Until recently (Win98) it was difficult, but not impossible to run multiple monitors under Win98 or NT. In a studio where multiple screens on the Macintosh are the norm for print production, this OS limitation was more than a minor annoyance. A little research however, turned up a highly productive solution from graphic card manufacturer Appian
Graphics.
V7 runs Jeronimo Video cards (J2s and J3s) on three PC workstations dedicated to web development. Appian's new PCI Jeronimo Pro card, certified for compatibility with Win95, Win98, and NT 4.0 can drive two or four monitors. Apian's Hydravision software provides strong window and dialogue management.
Frankly professional web designers and developers can be much more productive with multiple monitors. After using Macromedia's DreamWeaver in this environment, it's hard to imagine working on a single screen (even a 21.") In a three-screen configuration, DW's WYSWYG window is on monitor 1, the HTML window on monitor 2, and the site window
on monitor3. A browser is behind DW on monitor 2. Working side-by-side between visual and code modes is very fast, and the browser preview in DW pops the browser to the front of monitor 2.
V7 can setup and configure Appian hardware for optimal performance on new systems, and provide quotations for complete turnkey web publishing systems, utilizing multiple monitors when required.
